Our Find a Breeder service connects breeders with informed puppy seekers and helps prospective owners find breeders who meet the Royal Kennel Club’s Good Practice Health Standard, where one applies to their breed.
Accepted breeders will have a dedicated listing where they can showcase their experience, helping puppy seekers make informed decisions when searching for a dog.
Please note that Find a Breeder is a listing service only. Inclusion does not constitute endorsement, approval, or any guarantee by the Royal Kennel Club.
Am I eligible
To join Find a Breeder, you must:
- Meet the minimum Good Practice Health Standard, where applicable
- Only breed dogs of Breed Standard colours*
- Comply with the Find a Breeder Terms & Conditions,
- Cooperate with any compliance or verification checks
Known breed standard and Non-Breed Standard colours can be viewed within the relevant breed page on our Breeds A-Z.
Applying to join
Applications are reviewed by The Royal Kennel Club.
Before submitting your application, please make sure:
• Your dog’s health testing records are up to date
• Your dogs are listed in your account
• You have read and agree to the Find a Breeder Terms & Conditions
If you have any questions before completing your application, please contact the Royal Kennel Club’s Health & Breeding Support team. Please submit copies of any health test results to health.results@royalkennelclub.com.
What will my listing include?
You will have a dedicated listing for each breed you’ve been approved for.
Every listing will include:
• Your name
• Breed
• Region
• Breeding lines and disciplines
• An enquiry form enabling puppy seekers to contact you by email
• Live Find a Puppy advertisements
You may also choose to include:
• Your Kennel Name
• Your experience
• Further contact details, including telephone number and website
• Up to five photographs
• Your current breeding dogs
• Planned litter information
You can update your listing at any time through your online account. New listings and certain changes will be reviewed before they are published.
What happens after I’ve applied?
Applications are typically processed within 10 working days.
As an early customer of this new product, you're helping us launch something we're incredibly excited about. We're dedicating additional time to ensure everything works seamlessly and all applications are reviewed by the Royal Kennel Club. This may mean it takes a little longer than usual for your listing to go live, and we appreciate your patience as we build and refine the service.

Applying to join
How much does it cost to join?
Find a Breeder is currently free to join.
Who can apply?
Any breeder who meets the Find a Breeder Terms & Conditions may apply.
Can stud dog owners apply?
Not currently. Find a Breeder is intended for breeders actively rearing litters.
Can I apply if I haven't bred a litter recently?
Yes. If you have not bred within the last 12 months, we’ll assess your last litter and/or current breeding dog(s) against the eligibility requirements.
Can I apply if I’ve never bred before?[H[9.1]
Yes, provided your current breeding dog(s) meet the relevant eligibility requirements.
What do I need to provide when applying?
Complete the application form, providing details about yourself and your breeding activity. You won’t need to attach any documents at this stage but, before submitting your application, please make sure all your dogs are listed on your account and that your personal details and your dogs’ health records are up to date in the Manage Account area. Your application will be validated using our records, but you may be contacted to provide supporting documents, such as health test results.
What health testing is required?
Health testing requirements vary between breeds. Where a Good Practice Health Standard applies, both parents of all litters must meet the minimum requirements.
Can I apply with more than one breed?
Yes. Separate listings will be created for each approved breed.
Do you accept international breeders?
No. The Find a Breeder service is currently only available to breeders whose breeding activity is based within the United Kingdom. Breeders based outside of the UK are not currently eligible for the service.
Your listing
Can I update my listing?
Yes. You can make changes to your listing at any time within your online account.
Some changes, including bios, photographs and website details, require approval before publication.
How long does my listing stay active?
Your listing remains active as long as you continue to meet the Terms & Conditions.
What happens if I stop breeding for a while?
You can temporarily remove your listing until you wish to be added again. You can also indicate that you’re not currently breeding or add details of your next planned litter.
Can I leave the service?
Yes. You can request to have your listing removed at any time by contacting the Royal Kennel Club’s Health & Breeding Support Team. You’ll need to submit a new application if you wish to rejoin.
Puppies and enquiries
Is Find a Breeder the same as Find a Puppy?
No. Find a Puppy advertises registered litters, while Find a Breeder helps puppy seekers identify breeders who meet the Royal Kennel Club’s Good Practice Health Standard, as a minimum, and comply with the Find a Breeder Terms & Conditions.
Can I advertise puppies for sale on Find a Breeder?
Find a Breeder is not a puppy listings platform. Available litters should continue to be advertised through the Find a Puppy service, and any active advertisements will be linked to your listing.
Ongoing eligibility
Will my eligibility be monitored after I’ve joined?
Yes. We will carry out periodic checks or investigate concerns to ensure ongoing compliance with the Find a Breeder Terms & Conditions.
Can a breeder be removed from the service?
Yes. Breeders who no longer meet the Terms & Conditions, or where concerns arise regarding welfare, compliance or conduct, may be suspended or removed from the service.
