The Royal Kennel Club strongly recommends health testing all dogs prior to breeding. Knowing more about a dog's health can help breeders make informed decisions to lower the risk of producing puppies affected by known health issues.
This page includes all upcoming health clinics which provide pre-breeding health assessments to all those that need to get their dog tested, as well as information on hosts, and how to host a health testing clinic.

What is a health testing clinic?
Health testing clinics are group testing sessions organised by a host or veterinarian, where breeders and owners can have their dogs screened under a range of Royal Kennel Club health schemes.
Health testing clinics may offer the following schemes:

BVA/RKC/ISDS Eye Scheme – open to all breeds and used to screen for a range of inherited eye conditions.

Royal Kennel Club Heart Scheme for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels – screening the breed for heart disease, including mitral valve disease (MVD).

General heart screening clinics – heart screening carried out by a registered veterinary cardiologist.

Royal Kennel Club/University of Cambridge Respiratory Function Grading Scheme – assessing dogs for brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS).
The Royal Kennel Club strongly recommends health testing dogs before breeding. Understanding more about a dog's health can help breeders make informed breeding decisions and reduce the risk of producing puppies affected by known health conditions.
