The Royal Kennel Club has announced that three breeds will transfer from the Imported Breed Register to the Breed Register with effect from 1 January 2027.

The Korthals Griffon, White Swiss Shepherd Dog and Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless) Standard will transfer onto the Breed Register following successful applications made to the Breed Standards and Stud Book Committee. Please note that the other varieties of Xoloitzcuintle (Miniature and Intermediate) will remain on the Imported Breed Register.

The Korthals Griffon was recognised by the Royal Kennel Club in 2004 and classified in the Gundog group. An interim breed standard was published in 2008 allowing the breed to be exhibited in Imported Breed Register classes.

The White Swiss Shepherd Dog was recognised in 2017 and classified in the Pastoral group. An interim breed standard was published in 2018.

All three sizes of the Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless) were originally recognised as the Mexican Hairless and classified in the Utility group. Interim breed standards were published in 2007 and the breed name was amended to Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless) in 2016.

From 1 January next year, the Korthals Griffon, White Swiss Shepherd Dog and Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless) Standard will be eligible for separate breed classes.
